RESULT AND DISCUSSION -GLYCOPROTEIN

GLYCOPROTEIN:
From the table 4 depicts, the levels of stress induced rats in group II show us the decrease changes in the levels of Hexose and hexose amine levels. The control group of rats remains near the same in our condition of stress the levels of glycoprotein in group II group not much affected by stress induced paradigm.
In the study associated to  decrease in glycoprotein, which evidence our study is that intracellular matrix protein associated glycoprotein and decrease expression in postmortem of patients with depressive disorders(Fatemi et al.,2005).
Glycoprotein are found inside every cell and used by the body for various other purpose including building enzymes, hormones, immunoglobulins and antibodies. The sugars found in glyconutrients also enhance functions of the brain and nervous system, from memory and sleep to anxiety and depression.

SDS-PAGE FOR GLYCOPROTEINS:
Cell surface glycoconjucates plays a role in cell adhesion and conjucation. The electrophoresis pattern of tissue glycoprotein in the control and experimental rats were studied. From the figure it is evident that stress induced tissue glycoproteine express lower intensity as compared to control. The other control groups shows increase intensity of bands compared to stress induced group. From this we infer that neuronal membrane is altered and shows decrease glycoconjucates carbohydrate residue of glycoprotein in stress induced rats. Reelin a glycoprotein, this is an important matrix-associated glycoprotein which shows decrease expression in postmortem frontal cortex of patients with pshychiatry disorders (Fatemi et al., 2005).
